This BioXsteel project proposes the integration of upper gas recycling in oxy-combustion blast furnaces, with Power to Gas technology and biomass pyrolysis. This innovative system might reduce CO2 emissions by 60% compared to conventional blast furnaces, with 45% less electricity consumption than current alternatives based on H2. The general objective of the project is to prove experimentally the feasibility of this novel concept.
