CARMEN MAYORAL held a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Zaragoza and was a Tenured Scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) at the Institute of Carboquímica (Zaragoza). She was a board member of AMIT and executive vice president of the Women and Science Committee of the CSIC. She served as the head of the Department of Chemical Processes and Nanotechnology at the Institute of Carboquímica of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and was responsible for Outreach and Scientific Culture at her institute.
