The project aims to analyze the CO₂ methanation process from industrial sources using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques, based on the Sabatier reaction in two tubular reactors arranged in series. The study will incorporate the simulation of heat transfer to the cooling air and the ambient environment in each case.

The investigation will focus on identifying hot and cold spots within the reactors, key factors influencing heat removal and their mechanisms, as well as the effect of catalyst and inert particle size, bed porosity, thermal conductivity, coolant flow rate, and cooling air dynamics.

The CFD model will be validated using experimental data obtained from the methanation laboratory of the Energy and CO₂ research group.
