The COSTA Chair for Circularity and Sustainable Optimization with Advanced Technologies for the Primary Sector has presented the results of its first year of activity, highlighting successful research projects, support for student entrepreneurship, and initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development and rural opportunities.
During the event, José Antonio Mayoral, president of the Chair, underlined its commitment to fostering collaboration and multidisciplinary projects across the University of Zaragoza in areas such as the agri-food industry, circular economy, and territorial development.
The ceremony was chaired by Rosa Bolea, Rector of the University of Zaragoza, and Jorge Costa Cerezuela, CEO of Grupo Empresarial Costa, alongside senior company representatives who shared the group’s innovation and talent-development strategy.
A highlight of the event was the special recognition awarded to the MotoStudent Unizar team for its outstanding work and achievements. Led by Paco Moreno, researcher at the ECO2Lab research group, the team has become a benchmark for applied engineering, innovation, and student talent at the University of Zaragoza.
The award reflects the strong connection between research, industry collaboration, and hands-on learning that both the COSTA Chair and the University of Zaragoza seek to promote.
