Paco Moreno Guides University Team at MotoStudent 2025

The MotoStudent 2025 competition marked the culmination of two years of intense work and innovation for university teams from around the world. Among them was the team from the University of Zaragoza, tutored by Prof. Paco Moreno, a member of the ECO2Lab research group at the University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The event brought together more than 1,200 students from 80 universities and 19 countries, offering a unique platform that bridges academic learning with real engineering practice in motorcycle design and sustainable mobility.

Under Prof. Moreno’s supervision, the team competed in both the Electric and eFuel categories. In the Electric division, the prototype successfully passed static and dynamic verification tests, demonstrating strong technical performance despite mechanical setbacks that prevented completion of the final race. In the eFuel category, the students achieved an outstanding P1 in the Playoffs and P7 in the Final Race, showcasing their technical skill and determination.

MotoStudent is recognized as an incubator for engineering talent, promoting innovation in electric and alternative-fuel mobility, both are key areas of interest for ECO2Lab. Through initiatives like this, the group strengthens its connection between research and education, supporting hands-on learning experiences that reflect the growing importance of decarbonization and circularity in transport technologies.

ECO2Lab congratulates Prof. Paco Moreno and the participating students for their success and commitment to advancing sustainable engineering solutions.
