ECO2Lab’s new MEng student, Yaiza Sánchez, successfully represented the research group at this year’s European Researchers’ Night (La Noche Europea de los Investigadores), held on September 25 and 26 in Zaragoza’s iconic Plaza del Pilar.
Stationed at the Instituto de Carboquímica (ICB-CSIC) stand, Yaiza engaged with visitors of all ages to share insights into thermochemical waste conversion technologies. Her participation at the ICB-CSIC booth highlighted the results of her recent research stay at the institute, conducted under the CSIC JAE fellowship program (Becas JAE Intro).
Now beginning her research within ECO2Lab under the supervision of Prof. Luis M. Romeo, Yaiza brought both practical expertise and scientific communication to the two-day event. The European Researchers’ Night offered the Zaragoza community a direct window into how research carried out in local laboratories contributes to circular economy strategies and global environmental solutions.
