BioXsteel Project Welcomes Visiting PhD Researcher from Italy

PhD candidate Anna Travaglino, from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy), recently delivered a seminar on biomass waste gasification for renewable hydrogen production during her research stay at the Energy and CO2– ECO2Lab research group at the University of Zaragoza.

The seminar focused on thermochemical pathways for the valorization of biomass residues through gasification processes aimed at hydrogen production, addressing key challenges related to syngas cleaning, energy integration, and emissions reduction.

Anna Travaglino is carrying out a six-month research stay within the framework of the collaboration between the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli and the University of Zaragoza. During this period, she will work with Prof. Luis I Díez and Dr. Manuel Bailera on activities related to the BioXsteel project, focused on the development of innovative industrial decarbonization solutions based on bioenergy and renewable hydrogen.

This visit contributes to strengthening international scientific collaboration between both research groups and promotes knowledge exchange in advanced technologies for the energy transition and circular economy.
